Projector Or Flat Screen?

My friend in Cincinnati had a projector in her home instead of a Tv. I understanding it was a revolutionary idea. The projector is small and portable; it’s easy to move somewhere else, say to the backyard for an outdoor movie. And it provides a much larger image than a 52-inch Lcd screen for the same cost or less.

I decided to look into buying one for myself. But as I did my research, I realized that there are some specific setbacks to using a projector. First of all, few projectors have any speakers, requiring you to run your A/V through a receiver and hook them up separately. And unlike Tvs which have multiple inputs, you can only associate one set of video inputs to a projector at a time unless you purchase a receiver.

Another problem stems from the bulbs. Not only do they get hot, necessitating loud fans to cool them down, but they also burn out after about a thousand hours. If you watch television in the middle of three and four hours a night, that’s less than a year of use. Replacements can be more than 0 each. Ouch!

While Dvd, Hd-Dvd, and Blu-ray all look splendid on a projector, proper television does not. Vhs looks even worse. (Although Hdtv should work fine.) Of course, photograph ability isn’t the only consideration. The actual angle can cause a headache, especially if you don’t have a flat exterior and every bump or groove messes up the picture. Screens are costly and often burdensome–more trouble than I was willing to go through. In the end, I decided against buying a projector. However, if you have the money and space to install one in your home or in fact want a large image, it can in fact make movie-watching a treat.
